WANTED: fuel tank

Post by tedium27 »

Need a fuel tank for a newly acquired JDX6C. Fuel Gauge nipple rusted out, or a fix for it? Obviously, I have the steel tank. :wall:

if you cant find a steel tank a little closer to you, I have many tanks in good condition, none I have are perfect. But will work with out issue. I have cleaned the inside of the tanks with acid and then washed out, and before placing on the shelf put 1 ounce of oil in side to help stop any rusting during storage.

I live in pretty far from you so if you find one closer no problem

Thank you for the quick response Steven! Mine is the angular very forward tank. How much would it cost me to talk you out of one?

I have one I had a look at the inside is in good shape. It has a small dent in the front passenger side. but it did not leak when I cleaned out the inside. It has no fittings or fuel caps. I will post some pics if you are interested. I think 30.00 plus shipping. I might have a fuel inlet fitting but not sure of it condtion. let me know.

I have other ones with no dents that I have not clean out yet. one looks to be a good contender, no sign of leaks or rust that I would be concerned about. 20.00 for that one sold as is. also does not have any fittings or fuel caps

The plastic tank will fit if you trim a little plastic from the bottom of the grill and get the longer tank straps. It's 6 gallons instead of 5. It's a good upgrade, I did it on my 295/s.

I believe I have an extra steel tank if no one else has one.
