I wanted to bump this thread in hopes to encourage a few of my fellow JD collectors to dust off their racer sleds and join the GG I-500 this year. Last year was the first time every that most of the sleds in the race were JD's, but we have yet to snag a win.

Hope to see you there,

Joe...Are you aware of any other forum members preparing a sled this year?

10K Trailfire,

I haven't heard much from the other guys, but I do know of at least one JD racer moving to Cat. My mechanic and race partner who originally talked me into building a Liquidator should be on a 'new' vintage Cat this year.

But just in case, I should have the 80 Liquifire serviced and ready for back up duty after the rear axle failed last year.

As for the Dator, I has the motor down to the crank for full check out and servicing. I am going to relocate the coils off the bottom of the motor for cooler operation too. We are gearing it a step lower this year, and should have time to verify the clutching and gearing are dead on before the race, baring any blizzards or such.

The rear skid is finally getting rebuilt idlers. It was high time I tackle the job, so Lindner and Brock have been steering me through it. The rear shock is getting serviced, but otherwise the skid look great when I look it out for service.

No matter how many guys come race or not, I hope both Adam and I finish on our respective sleds, as we have yet to both finish...

Later Liquidator,
