I wish I had some extra spares I could sell you, but I only have two and I just burnt down a piston on my 4/6. The pistons I bought did not come with rings. Do you know if Invader/Liquifire rings will fit the 4/6 piston?

You can just use regular invader pistons in that motor. The ring pin placement is different but it will clear all the ports.

Thanks for the tip, Trucker, but my 4/6 engine uses considerably larger wrist pins than an Invader or Liquifire. I have the correct pistons for it and they do look like they'd take Liquifire rings, however I don't have a set to try. I think I'll order some and see how well they fit.

You must have a 81 or 82 monohead 8 port motor if your wrist pin is bigger. The 4/6 motor uses the same pin as the invader and intruder. An if you have a monohead the rings are different but still available from dennis kirk along with pistons. The gasket kits you can get from manufacturers supply or Pats small engine.

Yes, mine is an 81 with a monohead. Nice to know the original rings are still available. Dennis Kirk doesn't currently distribute parts to Canada, but I understand that they have plans to do so in the very near future. Do you have a Dennis Kirk part # for the proper rings for my pistons? I have my LTD 4/6 sold to a buddy of mine who is nuts for Kawasakis but I am keeping the engine which I plan on putting into a Liquifire, hence my user ID. That 4/6 was stupidly fast until I popped a piston awhile back....the speedo was showing somewhere near a hundred when suddenly, there was dead silence. Fortunately, there doesn't seem to be any other damage to the mill.

If its an 81 its not a 4/6 the 4/6 was only in 80 and had seperate heads and different cylinders.
heres a link to the pistons

trucker,
i talked to you on the phone the other day. im not real sure what i should do, your not the first one to tell me that invader pistons will work, and i agree with you. BUT my engine builder doesnt want to use them and wont make any promises if he does, so i figured id just see if i could find a set for it. what do you think?
