Yes I have a Brut fetish. I had my parents pick me up one along the Georgia border. So yes my "crap" has made it down to NC. Still have the 72 from Nick. Believe it or not I pretty much couldn't stand Yamaha sleds up until about Nov when I started looking at the Nytro & Apex. I like the looks of them but what I really like is the motors (durability factor). I wish Doo would come out with a Hi-Po 4 stroker. I've never had any of my Doo's that I owned let me down either local riding or on a Maine trip. Wasn't crazy about the looks of the ReV & started looking at Yamaha. I just couldn't bring myself to buy one. Thought the new Doo's looked wicked since the 1st sneak peak on DooTalk. Joe you mean Scoot C & his 1.5foot lower twin Denny D. I believe these other guys are jealous of our boardroom & webpage. It's got to be the most informative of any old sled manufacture on the net.

Jon,

If "addicted" doesn't take you up on your offer, I would be interested in giving it a try. For just a few reasons A) It would be interesting to see how I'd do.

B) It would be a good excuse to use these things for what they were built for. C) Potentially,

;) getting my a$$ kicked would be an honor!

take care

Wow I just saw this. I have great respect for John Deere and always have. I am sure most of you know that. I can say this topic was started by someone that doesnt like us over there because he was sent off the site. I am sincerely sorry if we or I offended any one in any way. I will go back and read this to see what was interepreted as offensive. Again I apologize for any thing I may have said or done. Docjim

The topic that was referred too has been pruned some time ago. I found a JDX8 and a JDX 340 out bushwackin one day. I posted because I was happy to have found a couple of Deeres in that great of shaped. Picked them up and have them still. THere was nothing said deragatory to JD in the post. In fact I was commenting on how well they were built. Again this was just a previous member that was booted off just for doing things like this. Not the kind of guy we wanted on the site. I know a lot of you come over there. Grant I have congratulated you a few times on your great posts not sure why you were mad about anything. Again I apologize for any confusion that may have gone on. Doc

First of all Doc Jim this thread is old. I think it was meant as a shix stirrer but take no offense. You, Larry and the others are valuable to all vintage guys no matter the preferred color. Keep hanging with us and you'll learn to love us, guaranteed. Don

Thanks Winnipeg, I was getting scared. I never mean to offend any one. I respect everyones choice in sleds especially John Deere. I wonder why nobody defended me as I have also started many threads pushing the green. I while back I listed the sleds I feel should have never quit building machines. John Deere was on top of the list and Kawasaki and Rupp were right there with them. I even sited reasons why and John deere I said, like all their equipment is the best built it can possibly be. Man did he ever turn this around. I am not offended but dissappointed.

You know what, I no this was a turned around mess and was said some time ago so the heck with it. Over and done. I know many of you are on THe BS site and will agree that this is a little over the top. Lets just have some fun. I'll keep looking and find good threads like most of them are.

Doc

Are you kidding us? We live on this stuff over here!

We are so used to being the underdogs, we expect it.

As I stated way back at the begining of this thread, the cluelessness is a hoot!
Most folks give Deere no respect because they don't know anything about them,
and not everyone knew about the racing even back in the day.

But at any rate, we were not offended, and as far as I know, we have no problem with Jeff on this site. I don't understand the deal over on the VSCA list with him, but he is OK with us here.

I now see how this all came about. If you go back and read all of sledrescues post you will notice a trend. Starting from the original post and supporting any attacks on BS. That is really what he started this post for. He is on a few sites and has done the same. He has one goal and that is to get everyone pissed at us. This activity is the reason why we banned him some time ago. We banned him for inappropriate conduct such as this. Trying to get others mad at other vintage sledders isnt my idea of an exemplary member. YOu have the right to believe what he is saying or not. If you are happy with him here than great! I can say he is generally good on the forum. Its what went on off the forum that caused problems.

One thing I do know is he will never quit. He will bash us every chance he gets and will never let it go.

Hi Doc,

I've been to Jeff's place a few times over the past few years. We get along well in person, but I understand your point. We are all big boys over here, and can draw our own conclusions. I think we take everyone with a grain of salt around here, and try not to take eachother too seriously.

We've had a few "internet brawls" over here too, and one even ended up with a good friend of mine leaving the sight perminently. We are not all always going to see eye to eye all the time.

None of us regulars has anything bad to say about your site, that is why several of us visit it daily. I like reading out what is going on out west in the vintage scene, and I've even met up with Larry a few times too. I was quite honored when he was introducing me to other collectors at Lee Fredrickson's open house this year, and mentioned it on the front page too.

When I post, I try to help guys keep the facts straight about Deere sleds, and often invite them to check out our little world over here. None of us take too seriously if we get picked on, as we just give it right back in good fun.

Glad to see you stop by here, you are a weclome guest here anytime.

-Joe Rainville

Thanks Joe as always level headed and sincere.

;) Sorry that this was Brought into your forum. I wish it would just go away. It has been my experience that when something goes on at anther forum, some will run right over to the other one and start something. I have seen many times others starting something and they were never provoked. I later find out that something was said at another site and they come on over and start in with no idea what the facts are. Information is the best way to form a reliable opinion.

;) Enouph said and thanks all for the help on the KEC440/22. Should see it running soon

:D The cyclone is pretty comfy to sit on. Hope she handles

Hi Doc,

nothing against you or your site, Doc. I visit the your site often and enjoy the posts. I tried to remember what was said at the time of that post but there were a few members that were raking over John Deere sleds at the time and I had also posted a few pictures of my sleds and some "Uller" guy had said that my garage was unkept and asked me if I was making "Meth" in my garage which really made me angry.

I re-read my post and it appears by my wording that I am taking a slap at your site and those were my words and for that I truly apologize. I always tell myself to watch my anger when I respond to anything but sometimes it gets away from me and I end up looking like an idiot.

I have enjoyed nothing but support from you and your site and realize I may need to take what's said about John Deere's or myself with a grain of salt. Again, I enjoy your site and apologize-I stuck my foot in my own mouth.

Uller is the class clown. He never means anything and if you get to know him he is hilarious. The truth be known he is one of the writers for a major snowmobile publication. He just comes on the Bull Sessions to have a good time. Most of us just fire it right back at him. I appreciate your great posts over there. You and Joe have taught many about the value of Deere and the asset they were to snowmobiles. You can tell as I know of many that are out looking for Deere sleds to own and restore. I keep in touch with many of the guys out there and I can say that there is a big surge in interest in John Deere and OMC. Thanks again Grant. Doc
