School is back in session. Seals are not checked by a compression test. A pressure test is required to check the seals and gaskets. A compression test is used to check the condition of the rings sealing against the cylinder walls.

As a side note, the KEC 340 has a drain plug on the bottom of the crankcase to drain excess fuel in severely flooded situations.
