salsbury primary clutch help

Post by kuby »

i need some more help.
i got a salsbury primary clutch (i do believe it is the 9000 series) and it is sticking. i want to take it apart and clean it up and regrease it. the question i got is can i leave the clutch on the motor? how do you get the big 1-1/2"nut off? is there reverse threads anywhere? also what type of grease do i use?

does anybody know of any good tricks on how to get this clutch apart and what to watch for.

thanks in advance.

Take it off, order a comet 94/c or 102/c the rollers inside your clutch are no doubt flatsided and junk, i dont know if i have ever seen a "good" used one, most were neglected and not lubed or cleaned and this is what happens
just my 2 pennies of thought !!!!

thanks for the input. you're not the only one that has said that.

question.

do you need a special puller to get that clutch off?

and will any comet clutch fit? how do i know if the shafts are the same? the engine is a ccw made by fugi. if i start looking on the internet. am i going to be looking at stuff that doesn't fit?

Yes, you need a special tool to remove the clutch.
Call Central Snowmo, or DK and talk to them.
Rebuild parts may be available if you look around.
