Simply an efficient engine coupled with an efficient drive system on a light weight sled.

I would love to hear some more stories about the Horicon MPG challenge at the reunion. Pictures would even be better!

What's the Horicon mpg challenge?

This has been sitting on my computer for quite some time, but this looks like a good time to post it: It's a 1983 Snow Goer fuel mileage test. It's a PDF, but still quite large, so if you are on dial-up, go grab a snack while it downloads.

Actually, the date of that fuel test is Feb. 1982, but it threw me off because they used 1983 model pictures.

The article stated that these sleds were modified for gas mileage. Wonder what was done?

Wonder what sort of modifications were made to these sleds. Man these JD sleds are getting twice the economy of stock.

How many miles would I get out of my 79 spitfire with a full tank?
