Just got home from HOF and Horicon, I'll post pictures but probably tomorrow. Horicon guys and gals, especially our own Horicon Joe Wanie did a terrific job. Greatest display of John Deere sleds ever I'd bet.
Thanks for the hospitality, sorry Bob and I had to leave so early. Oh, the brats were terrific too!!
Whoops!! forgot to mention it but I was very disappointed that the "chrome" jacket didn't show up. I would have bet it was going to make an appearance there. So..............who has it?
Feel free to check out our website www.buscobullet.com for restorations or parts.

Anyone have a pic of the track dyno. Last spring I was talking to a friends dad trying to get some help on my new Sportfires. He used to have Deere's and always wanted a sport... He mentioned that there used to be a dyno behind the old Deere dealer (now a farm supply store). I talked to the owner and he said I could have if were there, I poked around in the junk piles out back but found nothing. Not that I knew what I was looking for, so it might still be there.

Ohh, now I see how they do it... They just spin the sled up on a moving rubber "artificial terrain" track for the cleats to dig into- kind like a huge treadmill. Pretty cool and I've never seen one before!

Is it a Dynojet I wonder?

Most of the dyno's were made by OTC. The "belt" on the dyno is actually a track off of JD snowmobile. Just park the sled to be dyno'd on top, mate up the tracks, tie the skis down and strap to rear bumper. The dyno track spins a hydraulic pump and then a needle valve provides the resistance for the pump. The control had two gauges, one for pressure and one for mph, then you look up on a chart what that correlates to in HP. I picked one up in MN a bunch of years back and then sold it later. They also had water lines with nozzles to lube the slides if running that skid.
Previously owned Sleds:
1973 JDX8, 1973 JDX4, 1981 Liquifire, 1983 Liquifire, 1979 El Tigre Cross Country, 1979 Scorpion Sting and a few other Klunkers
Currently Own: 1980 Spitfire, 97 Cat ZR 440, 94 Cat ZR 580
