Hey Pete,

I really thought the $130 was for a new one. Pretty high for a used one I think. Even though mine only fit Spits, 300's and JDX-4's, I will probably hang on to them. For me its more about having parts for my sleds than it is about selling them for top dollar anyway. Funny that a lawn mower part is about the same thing though!

73JDX4,

My kit is entirely made from steel: both disks and the starter cup included. I have no idea how interchangable they are, as I am not a Kolher motor expert. Maybe one of the Merc or Rupp guys could help you out?

Yeah, I thought it odd too. Does anyone wanna take a peek at ebay item # 270350858258 to see if it looks the same as the Kohler recoil pulley? Evidently, the diameter is somewhere around 5 3/8". I don't have a new or used Kohler pulley to compare that to, but I have a used starter housing and it seems that the pulley should fit. If it's the same, I guess we could post it in the cross reference section.

I was hoping that Joe's part would work for you as it's always sweet to install an NOS part. But if it doesn't, how about posting a pic of your old one? Chances are pretty good that I'll have a good used one that I'd sell for cheap.......I just want to know what I'm looking for.

I just looked at a JD 300 engine I have sitting in my shed. All the rewind stuff is missing from it, but from what I can tell. it looks like Joe's set up should bolt on fine.

I found this one on a JDX4....not sure what model year it was. If it looks like it'll do the trick, you can have it for five bucks plus shipping. I'm not certain what state you are in? Shipping this item from my location in Canada to the USA would cost anywhere from about $15.50- $18.75 depending on where you are. Perhaps you might be able to find one closer to home and save on shipping costs.

You're talking about the plastic secondary cover.
