Quick Question on fuel
Quick Question on fuel
I think my fuel pump is on its last leg so I was thinking about replacing it. I am faced with two options. First I run two separate pumps one for each carb. The second being one of these guys. Mikuni DF62-702. It flows 65 liters an hour, 17.2 Gallons!!!!. Should be plenty. Only question is is it too much??? Will this Flood the motor??? I was thinking it shouldn't but I am unsure to tell the truth. Thanks

Ok so that single double pumper should be good. Not too much fuel for the two carbs??

Bob, I thought we broke you years ago from asking the same question over & over & over, Until you get an answer you want to hear ?? 
Why would you want to put a fuel pump on a older sled that hasn't been proven to work on your particular sled? Especially when the OEM style pumps are still available??

Sorry I was just making sure he didn't think I said I wanted to run two of the big guys. I worded my original post a little funny. I never though of that Ken. Maybe these motors don't create enough Impulse to draw what that pump needs. I think I will get a genuine Mikuni Rebuild kit for mine now and later on down the road switch things up a bit. I just want to get it running and then I can tie up all the loose ends next summer when I am out of school and have a little more cash.

If you have the "pentagon" type pump like the picture in your first post, you want the following:

The way I read it the other kits below are other than genuine Mikuni??
I think, but Doesn't the Newer Liquifires use a pump with more plates in them ( meaning there stacked higher??)
So make sure the rebuild kit has gaskets to go between as many plates as your pump has..

Ok thanks guys. Mine has one plate sandwiched in between the base and cover so I believe its a standard one. I think its from a different app but it still works the same. Harley I was think of trying that guy but I don't know how well it would work.

Bob, if you find that yours doesn't work with the rebuild kit and you need a fuel pump, look at the Mikuni DF52-73. The outlets are bent 90° up, instead of straight out. Just another option.
