I just rebuilt the engine in my trailfire 340, and when i when to start it today i could barley turn the engine over with the rope starter. Had both the sprak plugs out when i was trying to pull it over. Could it be in the recoil, or is it a problem with the engine????

does it spin freely by turning the clutch side by hand if so its prolly a recoil issue if not id tear down and revisit your overhaul , i just did an 81 liquifire that seized up after about 30 minutes of run-time turned out to be the water pump I went ahead and dissassembled the entire motor and all looked great so i reassembled , after seeing it apart again after some running for a spell it gives confindence all is well inside . wade

it hangs up a bit when you turn the pully, but nothing that is unusal for the engine never had been runing. (It truns over like a tractor enginge does when you are trying to trun it with a hand crank) Has new pistons,cylinders,and new rings.

Hoping that i dont have to tear the engine down!!! Thanks steve

if it turns over easy between compression strokes id take the recoil housiing off and pull it not bolted to motor maybe it will be something simple wade
