Mikuni Butterfly Stock Settings 79 Spitfire

Post by Hawkeye »

The 79 Spitfire is getting used quite a bit. The other night I had it up to 62 MPH, the girls haven't had it out in an open enough area yet to try in high speed passes... Anyway, it is a bit fussy when it comes time for it to idle (for driver changes) and then when it dies, it sometimes is hard to start. Since, I went through the whole thing last year and basically restored it to new, I am pretty sure it is a carb adjustment issues. So I am hoping someone can detail the factory settings for the carb, so I can start from there. Also what main jet should I be using here in the midwest, its currently a 180. Thanks in advance for any help that might be provided.

www.vintagesnow.com has an online service manual for the 79 Spitfire. This will give you the factory settings.
