When I picked up this Trailfire, someone had already disconnected the oil injection pump and ran it on pre-mix. Since the oil tank, lines and cable are already gone and the oilpump itself is just capped off, can I just remove the oilpump all together and fabricate a block off plate to mount in it's place??
The reason I ask, is that the pump makes noise when the engine is running, and I suspect it is due to lack of lubrication. It is probably eating itself for lunch without oil in it....right??
Thanks,

Sure, you can just remove the pump and drive key.

Sweet! I figured as much since it isn't driving a water pump behind the cover....but wanted to be sure before attempting it. Someday I may re-acquire all of the parts and put it back together.
