600 - first startup

Post by Matt »

So I'm still SLOWLY working on this 600 I started restoring like 10 years ago. I tend to do a few things on it, then put it aside for a few months to a year at a time before I get back to it again. So late last year/early this year I finally finished assembling the engine, carb, and rebuilding the clutch with the help of Harleysportster. It's finally in the sled with controls hooked up, so after all this time, I can finally see if it will start.

Nothing special here, but I thought I'd try a video on my new phone:

Good show Matt, Now I know who to send those Wheelbarrow carbs to, when people ask me who can repair them, LOL It's always good to hear a sled run in thew middle of summer, kind of gets your winter blood flowing again.. :clap:

Sounds great matt! Those points engines can be a bear to time, but it sounds dead on in the video! Glad to see its coming together.

Excellent! Love them 600's, I had mine running last weekend. Loaded it up and put it in storage.

More very slow progress on this 600. I recently had to re-paint the tank, so I finally strapped that in today, and the JDX4 hood I decided to use is now actually green! It's going to need some wet-sanding and more coats.

Looks like here...the sled you are working on, surrounded by the parts of about 15 others. :beers;

Progress is always good!

Hit the nail on the head there. You should see my work bench, there are probably parts from 3 different projects on it. It's always a mess.
