1979 John Deere Trailfire crank seals part #

That seal is 30mm x 62/63.5mm x 10mm which is correct for the PTO end, but you will need a 25mm x 62/63.5mm x 10mm for the MAG side. The easiest was to pay is by credit/debit card.

so that one is correct for pto side? so what do i do for the other the mag side?

The seal number may still be visible on the old seal. The JD Parts Cat. shows the same seal on both ends of the crank, aftermarket 1302R. Before you split the case, get a set of the " O " rings that are around the main crank bearings. The originals may break as you seperate the case.

As usual, it looks as though Pat is correct. The seal you found from DK should work on both sides.

Unless you are ordering other stuff from DK, go to your local sled shop and see if they are a Parts Unlimited distributor. They can get you the seal in less time.

Yes, they do use two of the same seal. I just added them on Newbreedparts.com. You're also going to want some Threebond to re-seal the crankcase if you do it yourself.
