1983 Liquifire electric start help

I was fortunate enough to pick up an 83 Liquifire parts sled that has an electric start. Do any of you have a electrical schematic that you could post for me and/or give me some insight on installing it on my 83 resto project?

Lucky for Sean that he won't have to go through the process of making his own hole since its an 83. That right there looks like a lot of work

You're right Dustin!! Worst case scenerio here is removing two bolts that hold starter cover in place.

That is good news. The reason I have never put an electric start on my '80 is because I have no desire to go drilling holes in the crank case. I've learned something new today. Was '83 the first year that it was a cover plate?

I believe it was about half way through the 82 model year that it changed. Sean, where is tha battery box on that thing? I can't figure out where they would put it.

The battery box mounts in front of the clutch on the lip of the left TPR panel.

Sean decided that we could install the starter at a later date in an effort to get this thing running and ready for a ride in mid-January. After watching him pull the cord tonight numerous times......he might change his mind again.

Must have excellent compression... In any case here are some images from a parts catalog that show a diagram and the corresponding parts list that may be of use when assembling and installing an electric starter kit into a Liquifire. Best of luck. Maybe once you get it installed, it will snow.

FYI, if you need to cut the hole, the flywheel most likely will not have the ring gear.
