I had a few friends stop by this weekend and lend a hand with the I-500 Liquifire rebuild. Joe Sherwood stopped over on Saturday where we upgraded the stearing links and tie rod ends to the larger 7/16" size with a front steel tie rod from the 82-84 Liquifires. Waters boy figured that out for me, and I found a stash of NOS rod ends to take most of the play out of the stearing system.

Joe helped loctite every bolt in the rear suspension and gave me a hand installing it. I installed a later molded dash and other painted underhood parts.

On Sunday, Tim and Nick came down to go NOS parts shopping and lend a hand with some of the underhood details:

Tim serviced and calbrated the driven clutch while Nick and I supervised. By the end of the weekend, the only thing she is lacking are the gears, carbs installation and the air box. I had to order a few more small carb parts and fuel line before they go back on. Every carb part but the main body is either new or NOS this year.

I will be home next weekend to get her running and stud the track, and of course pray for snow...

Hard to get too excited around here. Took this picture on the way to work this morning (20 miles west of Minneapolis). Last I heard Thief River Falls didn't look much different with no snow in the extended forecast.

Thanks Roy, I got mine from Johns Upholstery. There is a link in the parts source on this site. Mine is a bit different than Brians. I have one more seam than he has on his. His seat came on one of the sleds he bought.

Last weekend the Viking Mn Vintage ride was cancelled due to lack of snow. Viking is located near Thief River.
