How did you put the crank seals in with only pulling the bottom case off?

step by step here ya go...

remove the black engine mount bracket, then remove the flywheel, then remove the stator and the black engine mount bracket with the flywheel housing due to the wiring for the stator goes through it, next remove water pump and hose leading to thermostat housing, next remove gear drive cover for the waterpump and oil pump, flip engine upside down remove all bolts holding the halves together, gently pry off the bottom half, next grab ahold of crank on both end and pull it towards you about and inch keeping pistons inside the cylinders, remove mag seal. PTO seal is in the gear case cover.

What trick did you use to get the gear off? Seems that may be tough with the crankcase in the way..?

Hey Paul,
Nice work. The Jackson county Black River Falls area trails are open. You should come up and ride that baby in the land of cheese. It's snowing like crazy here right now.

Eric,
Plenty of room, just pull the entire crank out with the piston attached to it, but dont go to far with that you dont wana pull the piston out the bottom of the cylinders. Once you have the crank pulled back, lay the engine on its side so you wont fight the pistons falling back in, which isnt too likely to happen due to the compression, leave the spark plugs in.
