1980 Liquifire Project
Re: 1980 Liquifire Project
Put a pice of plastic door trim on the edge of the motor mount plate. Or windshield trim. The door trim is sold at Auto Zone...etc (the mounting plate usually cuts into that hose)
I always grind down the edges of the lower steering bracket (the other cause of cuts in the coolant hose)
Sled looks nice!

Re: 1980 Liquifire Project
The carb is flooding due to the missing O ring. You can get that at Newbreeds.com

Re: 1980 Liquifire Project
Sure that's not excess fuel and oil from not having the jet setter o-rings?

Re: 1980 Liquifire Project
My experience with those in my younger years, was that I had compression leaking past and coming out through the studs. In all honesty the failure was due to the surface of the head and jug not being flat. An OEM gasket leaked also.
In my opinion I think your asking for trouble if you don't lap the heads and jugs on these to make sure their flat.
On the flip side, its hard to tell from the photo if it's coolant. However, mine leave an oily spooge ring under the exhaust when I let them idle.
