Post by tieszo6 »

Could anyone provide me with the jetting specs for a 76 Mercury 340 Trail Twister?

Thanks

Fixed high speed jet is a 200
Jet needle E-ring should be second slot from the top

I can't find the pilot jet size.

There is a repair and parts manual here http://www.vintagesnow.com/Mercury.htmlif you need more info.

Ironically, the pilot is what I need. I'm running 30's right now but it still seems to be loading up.

I did some more digging and the parts manual shows 30s for a 340 and 35s for a 440. Maybe the e-clip is in the wrong place?

Webman,
Thanks for the help! Once I looked over the link you posted I could see that someone had installed the incorrect needle and seat. I put in some spares that I had here and now it take a half a pull to start and will idle perfectly. I'm quite impressed with the way it handles, not even the moguls in the ditches could shake the smile off my face.
