Adding heat exchanger to a dator

Post by DLDeere »

It's been recommended to me to add a heat exchanger from a Liquifire to my Dator if I plan to ride it much. Have any of you done this? Any tips or suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Howard, Use the one from a 80-84 Liquifire, They work a lot better & don't hold the mud like the 78 style does.. I can ck & let you know how we ran the hoses if you want?

Ok. I think it would still work the same. I can get the plumbing diagram from the parts book. I'm sure someone else will reply. Thanks.

Howard,
When I restored my Dator last yr I did install a LF cooler. But I used a 78 cooler. I could not seehow the 80 LF would fit in there. Even the 78 was a bit of a challenge at times. :bonk: Here are some pics. the setup worked well till the pto burned down. I still don't know why. it never got above 150.
