need help with my 1974 jdx4 special

i have been running light boulbs through my jdx4 four 4 years now and i am sick and tired of it :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: and i need some help.i put a new boulb in and the light gets bright and then it blowes i need help :think:

there have been some posts similar to this i think most issues revolve around the voltage regulator wade
certificate recipiant of the 12 vintage challenge !! on a 78 liquifre 440,
certificate recipiant of the 13 vintage challenge !! on a 340/s
certificate recipient of the 14 vintage challenge !! on a 78 liquifire 440
joe forgot the certificates for the 2015 vintage challenge
crossed the start/finish line twice at the 2013 and 2014 I500 on a 78 liquifire 440

well ... one main ground on the fan tower near the six pin square plug thats were most everything grounds to , the regulator hangs up above the primary though ,hmm ill look at mine wade

i still dont now were the six pin squere plug is could you be more specific :?

it is bolted to the fan tower under the external coils.

Replace the voltage regulator. My X4 Special was doing the same thing when I bought it.....replaced the voltage regulator and all lights work as they should. The voltage regulator is located under the instrument panel, on the left side. It should be a single wire regulator and grounds to the frame where it mounts.

sorry yes that is the one sounds like your reglator has laid down on you let us know how we can help wade

yah i kinda figurd it was the voltage regulater and i think its time to replace it :| its now fun chaseing coyotes in the dark. :) :letitsnow: :needsnow:
