Reed Valve question

Post by HoosierDeereMan »

Does anyone know if there are aftermarket reed valves that will fit the Kioritz engines?

Has anyone ever experienced reed valve failure? If so can you describe how the sled acted? Is there a way to test them?

Thanks,
Troy

From the service manual
A faulty reed valve can usually be detected by excessive fuel "spit-back" through the carburetor, causing a "popping" noise. Some where I think I read that up to 0.060 hang-open clearance was exceptable. You could try and turn them over.
