Clutch Questions

Post by KennyH »

I cant get the clutch bolt out of this clutch. It came out of the crank ok but I cant get it out of the nut thats behind it. Am I being to careful? does it slide right through that? Is the nut threaded to where I have to screw the bolt through that also?
Also, what kind of clutch is this?
I have a JDX 5 with a comet 100C on it, are parts still available for that clutch? Or this one for that matter.
Thanks for the help guys.

Nobody huh?
I didn't mention that the motor came out of a 72 JD 500. It is a CCW 440.
The other clutch (comet) is on a whole different motor and I am wondering if that one will fit this motor and would work better.

Since the 72 500 came with a Salsbury drive, that one in the pic is deffinately not stock. Maybe it's a St. Lawerance or something.

If you have a 75 JDX 4, 6 or 8 with a Comet 100-C parts are still somewhat available for it from Comet or NOS.

Good Luck, and see if you can provide more info on what clutch you have there.

This is a clutch from a JLO Rockwell,The only way that I have been able to get them off is to unbolt the outer part of the clutch then take a bolt that fits into the hole then find a bolt that threads into the inner part of the clutch and tighten it.The clutch "should" pop off
