did you pull the plugs and check the pistons through the holes. i had a sled do that to me twice it leaned itself out and burned a whole in the piston. it was the fuel pump. one side of the pump didnt work and the other did. dont know if this helps

I have cleand the carbs a couple of times, and no I have not pulled the plugs turning steel plugs out of warm aluminum heads is, at least for me, never a good thing. I do plan to check the pistons when I go pick up the sled. I thought of fuel pump problems also

Oh yippie, just pulled the plugs and lo and behold a hole in one of the pistons, next question is it easier to change tracks or engines. I have an 80 lf with a bad track and a good enigne.

Personally I would swap a engine before a track. But if you go this route you still need to make sure both carbs are getting fuel. You may end up having problems with the good engine also just like this 1 if it sat along time it could fail a crankseal just as easy.

HA.

Bob do you have any idea how expensive that would be? It took you how long to get a tech manual cause you thought that was too much $$.

Are you being serious?
