Re: Liquifire Reproduction Throttle Blocks
Ive interchanged them over the years, never could tell the difference. Don't know why you can't market them for both applications. However, maybe you're onto something with the pivot pin hole...

Re: Liquifire Reproduction Throttle Blocks
How does this throttle block differ from the brake block? It should be the same...right?

Re: 76-78 Hydraulic brakes??????
Start with a Kelsey Hayes caliper off an older Polaris sled. It will bolt directly to your chaincase...all you need is a spacer to get the correct offset. Then use a master cylinder of your choice with the correct length brake line. If you find the parts at a swap meet, maybe $20-30 for everything y...

Re: Throttle / Brake Blocks F/S
Still have one perfect Brake/Throttle Block. Can be used as a brake block OR throttle block on the LF's. It can be used as a throttle block on sleds w/o the rev limiter as well...you will just have a hole where the switch would go.

Re: Liquifire crank seals
You'll have to split the cases, the seals have a lip that rests in a groove in the chaincase.
FYI...
If you're doing an 80's LF you'll have to pull the oil pump drive gear off the crank to remove one of the seals.
Check out new breed parts for the correct seals...

Throttle / Brake Blocks F/S
A pair of handle bar blocks.
The brake block is perfect and can be used as a throttle block on Liquifires. Throttle block is cracked but has the cable. Probably removed from a Trailfire.

Re: What happened here?
I took a break from sleds for a couple years. Sold off all my sleds and trailer.
I decided this Spring I need to put a Sportfire together for this coming winter!
What this site has that FB does not...is the searchable topics and index's. Very handy.
Plus the posts on here tend to be more reliable.

Agreed!
I'm now one step closer. Just acquired a 80' Sportfire, will check it over and see if its going to be a good candidate. The black spray paint maybe hiding something...ha
