Just a thought, try setting your choke plungers a little deeper.

I think what you need is the Sportfires secondary helix, not the whole secondary.

Re: 1980 SportFire with 5.6 original km's on it !!!

Cool find! If it were mine, I wouldn`t ride it. How many "new" Deere sleds are out there? They are only new once. I have a Sportfire, and a Spitfire that I found in almost showroom condition, and it only took them a few seasons to get them good and scratched up. I`m sure you could sell it ...

Re: 80 + Liquifire Deep Snow Kit

I had posted the directions for the deep snow kit on here about two years ago, in the Kawasaki section. Search Deep snow kit, and you should be able to find it. The kit consists of the rear arm, shock, and springs if I remember right. You will have to drill holes 2" ahead of the rear arm mounti...

Re: 80 Sportfire Resto

Sounds like you either need your crank rebuilt, or find a good used one. I think on a sled that has this much sentimental value, it would be well worth the investment to have your original rebuilt by Jerome. That way, you can be certain you have a good crank. Chances of finding a good used crank can...

Re: strange track problem

The drivers are fine, the track is running to one side of the drivers as well. I wonder if maybe one of the rear idlers is a bit more worn than the other side?

Re: strange track problem

It was a very nice used track that came from a very low mileage 81 LF. The track definately sat WITH tension set for 25+ years. Do you think that could be the problem, or could there be something else? If I could get my track to run a quarter inch or so to the right, I`ll be in good shape! Has anyon...

strange track problem

Hello all! It`s been awhile! So I recently finished doing a track conversion on my 80 Sprotfire. I installed a really nice liquifire track, suspension, driveshaft, and chaincase. New bearings, and all that good stuff. I also used an 82-84 Sportfire rear swingarm. Now here is my problem. The track wa...
