Track goes by itself?
Thank for all the suggestions. I do believe it's possessed. That or it wants to run away because I won't keep it in the garage at night.

Track goes by itself?
Hi, I'm looking for ideas to prevent my 80 spitfire from taking off down the field by itself. It idles well when I first start it but after going for a ride, the track turns by itself. I need to hold the brake down so it won't go anywhere. The idling screw isn't pushing down the throttle. I've playe...

carburator screws turning on their own
yes there is. The spring seems springy enough if that's a word. Could it be excessive vibration from the motor?

carburator screws turning on their own
Just wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem. I adjust the screws to get the engine purring but when i'm out riding they unscrew. I almost lost the air screw this weekend while riding. I believe this may also be the reason why my engine is back firing. It blew the impulse line right off. ...

Are all trailfire hoods the same?
I am looking for a better hood for my 79 trailfire 340 and I found the hood of a 81 trailfire 440 online. Just wondering if it would fit.
Thanks,
Eric

1980 Spitfire Carb trouble
Hi Kenny,
It's not rubber tipped. I bought this sled in rough shape and this is the last kink to iron out(I think). Could it be that it's the wrong needle or jet? I'm still learning so i'm not sure what things should look like.
Eric

1980 Spitfire Carb trouble
Hi Gang, I am having trouble with the needle getting stuck. I've cleaned the carb god knows how many times with 3 different carb cleaners. I've double and triple checked to see why it gets stuck and I have no idea. Once I put it back together, it starts right up and goes great. I turn it off and the...

SLEDS ARE DONE!!!!
Great Job Deereboy,
You better watch out as half the people from this site are heading to Ohio to:
1.) Take your sleds,
2.) Kidnap your dog (darn dog looks so cute)
3.) propose to your wife as ours won't let us spend $$$ to have sleds like yours and a garage like that.
Very envious... :green:

1979 Trailfire chaincase bearings
Hi,
I am having a tough time finding bearings locally for my trailfire. Would anyone know the size I should be looking for? Is it 25mm ID, 52 OD, and 15mm wide?
Thanks,
Eric

Gasket question for 1974 JDX 6
So last night i tore the engine apart (what I could do anyways). The left piston that had 90 psi had 1/2 a piston ring missing and there is a small piece of metal missing between the 2 rings the circumferance of a pencil eraser and perhaps 1mm deep. I am assuming I need a new piston. Can you remove ...
