Re: installing a HewTech Stator & CDI Box

Grumpy,
I installed both units on my 76 cyclone, no changes needed on the trigger but the wires on the staor were too short, I think like the 78 would have.
I made no changes to the timing. It runs great. Give them a call, really great guy to work with.

Re: Dator Stator OHMs

I realize your dator has a little different set up than my 440 cyclone but the fuel pump is similar. I was flooding out the left cyclinder and found a failing diaphram in the fuel pump.
Pulse line was pulling gas straight thru the pump to crankcase. Just a thought.

It is a neat piece of work. We get to ride with him every so often, maybe even tomorrow.
Great to have that talent in your group!

Milage?

How many miles can you go on a gallon of gas trail riding? Engine size or # of carbs a noticable difference? I had gas in tank on my 440 Cyclone (eight gallon tank)after a 55 mile ride but i don't know how much. Doing 10 miles or so more tomorrow.
A lot of variables I know but just wondering.

Re: Wanted 76 liquifire parts

440 rat,
I don't think you want the set I have, too many problems, twisted off bolts and they won't come out.
I think the bumper that Kenny repopped last year would work for you.

Re: Wanted 76 liquifire parts

440Rat
If you are looking for the chrome side handles and the back rest supports I have a set, came off a 76 Cyclone. Some rust and pitting on them.
Once mounted you can easily determine the size of the backrest.
I'm in the Detroit Lakes area, same state if that helps.

Re: Opinions on this cyclone??

You are starting out way ahead compared to the cyclone I have.
I do have a speedo and cable if you want. You may also want to find an air box for it

Re: FS - Mid Mount Track - M64360

I offered one of those for sale a year ago last August, also in very good shape, didn't seem to be any interest. So it is still here and for sale, anyone coming through the west central part of MN?

Handle Bar Pad

So how would you restore the finish on a handle bar pad? I have one in very good condition except that it has spent to much time out in weather. What can be done?
Armoral helps some but maybe not when finish is gone. Anyone try gluing in a replacement bolt? I have two, one needs a bolt or two.

Re: Not Snow Related

The seat holds gas, won't go thru until the lever is pushed down. Compression tested, ok, replaced a crankshaft seal that looked bad, tried differant H & L needle settings. Found a manual online for that HU carb and followed instructions and trouble shooting. What is still wrong? Should I try a ...

Re: Not Snow Related

Dustin,
Thanks for trying to help but that didn't work at all! Fired one time and spark plug is drenched. This is a tillotson carb, the walbro does use that setting.
Could the spring (pop off) pressure be too low?

Re: Not Snow Related

It is an 028WB stihl. Starts readily, can't keep it running, have had it running enough to adust H & L to no avail. carb off and cleaned, ( two or three times), new kit, needle lever set flush, pulse line ok, new fuel line and filter. Flywheel off , checked points, filed a bit, seal on that side...
