Re: Iowa Farmer Today article
Cool guy ,great collection.I met him at The Jack in Clear Lake,IA some time back when he brought his 84LF,78CC,Dator etc.and I brought my 340/S obviously jump starting the conversation. He doesn't live far so I run into him once in a while. He strayed off into Polaris territory lately, racing a Centur...

Re: vinn and certifiction stickers
Has anyone made or have any NOS vin and certification decals for the 84's?I am also needing the fuel shutoff decals for the 84 Traifire & Sporty. Anyone found repops or have NOS for those? My kits from JDsleddecals didn't come with those. Thanks for any info.

Re: 295/S Chaincase Fail
I would check your front driver bearing on the chaincase side.In my experience on the midmount sleds that is by far the most common reason for the chain coming off and wiping out the lower sporcket.

Re: 74 600 Fuel Pump Question
The fuel pump on the Bendix equipped machines is attached to the heat shield just above and to the left of the carburetor. If you have the right heat shield it should have the mounting holes already in it.If you have an owners manual it shows the location in the carburetor adjustment section. Perhaps...

295/s Lost spark
I pulled my 295/s out after a long hiatus from the trails to clean the carb and put on new fuel lines.I primed the carbs and it fired a couple times, then nothing. No spark where there had been hot blue spark on the N19V's.I checked the stator as per the service textbook and it fell within the resista...

Re: JD KEC-440 motor wanted
The serial # decal on the tunnel indicates that it is a 73 so the correct motor is the 440/4.The 74 S/N decals were bigger and had the serial #'s stamped into the decal itself. A kec 440/21 is a direct bolt in if you have the correct JDX 8 exhaust elbow because the mufflers are the same.

Re: 83 liquifire pipe fit on a 83 sportfire?
They will physically fit but there are slight differences internally. Liquifire pipes have abead of weld forming the letter "L" on the top near the outlet end.

Re: Red Lake I-500 Vintage Class
I have a couple of the BM21187 56hp cc race kits for the 80 LF's and was wondering what the difference in the cylinders was. Was the porting different to work with the restrictor plates? I assume the clutch arms, primary and secondary springs were to compensate for the lost HP but what was the differ...

Re: Consecutive sn 295/S's
I don't know where they were originally purchased but I bought them about 10 miles apart so they may very well have come from the same dealer ship. The original owner of my first 295/s passed away several years ago and I am trying to find out more from his old riding buddies. The second one was purch...

Consecutive sn 295/S's
I recently dug both of my 295/S's out of long term storage and discovered that they had consecutive serial numbers! One, my first sled, acquired in '91 is no.20803 and the second acquired in '99 is no.20804. They had been stored separately so I had never compared SN's.What are the odds that out of a...
