Re: 1982 Liquifire

1. 2633 miles 2. 102c clutch w/new purple spring. Original secondary. Shifts very smooth and doesn't look like the belt wore one bit over the 200 miles we just put on it. It had the TR800 but it was cracked and coming apart so we switched it out. I still have the TR800 for parts. 3. oil injection wo...

***1979 Spitfire for sale***

Thinking about selling a 79 Spitfire. This is an all original survivor that is unrestored and runs very good. Great candidate for a restore or can be used as-is to run to the vintage rides or ice hut! It was stored, covered on a trailer, behind a local farmer's barn for several years when we found i...

Re: fire series skis/spreaders

OK...the newer mono-leaf ski's spring is held to the mounting bracket(saddle) with a single large rivet. That rivet had come out on both skis and therefore making them wobble like crazy! Spreaders will not work on the mono-leaf skis without some modification. The skis off the 80(multi-leaf) will fit...

Re: fire series skis/spreaders

I know what you mean about that grease zirk as I just had the motor out of this 83 and greased it. That's about the only way you can get to it! The spot that is loose on these skis is actually down lower under the "saddle" I'm calling it. This is the piece that bolts to the spindle which y...

fire series skis/spreaders

So, I have noticed that on my 83 trailfire, the spring is a mono-spring. On my 80 trailfire parts sled, it's a multi-leaf and where they attach to the saddle is different. I recently got the 83 from a barn find. I've pretty much gone through the entire topside of the sled so it's time to move to the...

Re: Deere Wives at the HOF?

Thank you. So what is the actual date of this years ride? I can't seem to find that anywhere. Thanks! I've got a trailer that I need to get road-worth, clutches on an 82 liquifire that need changed out and a paint job on an 83 trailfire to get ready. Don't know if we'll make it this year but sounds ...

What color silver?

Well, now that I finally have my 83 TF LX going I am ready to re-paint the hood. Is there a common color in rattle cans out there that is close to the WinterFrost Silver used from the factory. I'm not really wanting to spend a bunch of money on paint but want it to look right. Any help would be grea...

It worked!!!

Well finally got the 83 Trailfire 440 LX going yesterday!! I recently rebuilt the motor and the cdi went out on it right after I ran it for the first time to warm it up for the new head gaskets. After looking for a cdi at New Breed and Dennis Kirk and ebay and finding none I called Bob at Image who ...

Re: is it possible?

Well, turns out it was the cdi. After sitting out in a field for about 10 years I guess i decided to work once and shoot craps! Ended up pulling the fan housing off, pulling the flywheel and installing the ignition system and fan housing off of a 1980 trailfire 440. Pretty much a plug and play deal....
