Re: 76 LF tach in a 77 LF

Quickest fix I ever had. Had the yellow/black wire on the yellow not the black wire. Tach needed a unregulated source I guess.
Cold idle will set when I get a better chance to warm it up.
Thanks Joe for the reply.

Re: 76 LF tach in a 77 LF

I believe it to be original ignition, I bought it from the original owner. Will check the plug in wiring
to make sure of the connections.

76 LF tach in a 77 LF

I put a 76 tach from a Liquifire 440 into a 77 340 Liquifire, why would it register
rpm but not where it should? Way lower than it sounds.

Re: '77 Liquifire crank seals

Before you put the stator back on test the coils for ohms. There is a procedure on this site on how to do it. My 76 440 had a bad low speed winding, it wouldn't start. It also needed crank seals. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8394/8620802986_f06e0f0d80_z.jpg https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3689/9908...

Re: Just an Idea

Yes I do this all the time. I use a 1 gal fuel container which fits nice on the floor board. Drop one end of the fuel line into the container (with a screen pick-up) the other end goes to the fuel pump. I usually stuff a shop towel around the line going into the tank to help keep things in place. T...

Re: 1977 340 liquifire project

Stator coils. The high speed coils are falling off and then it runs on the idle coils. That's what happened to my 76 440.

Re: 77 liquifire problems

Have you ohmed out the stator yet? There is a idle winding and a high rev winding. It sounds like it is not making
the transition to the high speed windings. Check out this post on here. http://www.jdsleds.com/community/viewto ... ?f=5&t=289
My 76 had the opposite problem it wouldn't start.

Re: New Wisconsin Antique Registration

nick80lf this post is about the ANTIQUE registration in Wisconsin and you are talking about Act 142, which goes into effect on July 1, 2015. 2 different law changes. Back to the antique change. I thought that the 66 and older were grandfathered to stay as they are and the 35 and older sleds back to ...
