No after market pistons available. ICCSF's would be the best bet, but I've been told that Rotax 440 F/A 20 over pistons will work, but I haven't had any one confirm that. I did some checking into the 440 Rotax pistons. Found one guy from another site that had some but they are REAL EXPENSIVE!!! Kin...

Just another opinion here, and we all know what opinions are like, right? I use Seafoam. run em all winter with it in em and then make darn sure there is some in the tank when I put them away. I also use Non-Oxegenated gas in the old sleds I run, they aren't all JD's  . Store em full or par...

Scored Cylinder Cleaning tip
I will put this here as my question in another post that pertains to this is also here. I took the jugs off and found piston residue attached to the cylinder wall. I tried to scrape it off with a razor blade and pocket knife but that took too long so I had my better half bring home some of "The...

Thanks Kenny! How do I go about getting the Aluminum off from the cylinder walls? Lightly scrape it with something? I've been told to use "The Works" toilet bowl cleaner, but how? Just put it on the aluminum with a Q-Tip? The piston measured at 2.668 inches or 67.7672 mm's, so they must be...

I got the bad cylinder off today and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Still bad though! ICCSF 108, are both the replacement pistons the same or do they have a specific side? the bad one on mine is the recoil side. the pto side looks good. Again, THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!! Later, Kenny ...

Want to really make that thing go? Put on dual Mikunis like my 600 has, the are flange style, round slide, 25mm I believe and have been told they are off of a Polaris. It runs great and I hit 65mph with that big sled in ideal conditions this year. They bolt right up and I have not fouled a plug yet...

The only requirements for the race are, the sled has to be a Panther, 440 or less in motor size and we have to wear helmets!JD600 wrote:No. I think that sled is awesome. Why not use the whole Deere?

I thought that was the word when I was doing this modification. What about over sized pistons for it? Same problem? How about aftermarket? IE Wiseco. I didn't plan to make any one mad! It came out of a free sled and went into a free sled to make one I could race! It WAS winning when it locked...

The last ime I was here I was stripping a 72 JD 500 to put the motor into a race sled I was making. Musta been a year and a half ago or so. Well now I've burned that motor down so I come seeking help, info and most likely parts if they are to be found. The motor in question is a 440 CCW. But like an...
