Has anyone found a good product to use that restores the black hard cowling plastic ?.
Just looking for a quick spray product, not looking to repaint.
WD-40 is not the answer I'm looking for.
Hope someone has found something good.

You'll probably get several replys all of which will be good. Personally I use Bondo's "RestoreBlack" from Walmart.

DA...you ever had issues with the restore black flaking off a year or two later?
I used it on a tank. Scrubbed with soapy water, wiped with paint thinner before applying about 5 coats of restore black. Thank looked excellent until it started flaking off.

Uh...no I don't think so. Perhaps an early resto when gas spilled over the tank but I'm thinking we just went back over it.

I agree, except I prep more. Scotch brite to remove oxidation, then clean with soap/water and then alcohol to clean the surfaceJDT wrote:Krylon Fussion Satin Black get my vote.

Well yes, soap and water with a stiff bristle nylon brush.
Rinse, dry and paint. Works fantastic.
