This is on my '72 400
It is on the engine shroud, not the top cover.

It would appear that the 72 emblem is larger than the later years.

Never owned a 72 myself.

I checked all my mid mounts

My 74 600 has the multiple lines of John Deere on the cover. Nothing on the console
My 72 400 is the same as already posted
My 75 and newer are the same as the others posted.

I'll try and shrink the pics so I can post them

I wonder if your cover had been swapped with one of the '73 replacement ones, because there seems to be a specific 600 plate for '74. friendlyfarmeria posted it above and I have one here somewhere too.

That is possible.
All of mine have the cc rounded off 400's say 340, 300's say 300 and 800 says 440. My 600 just says john deere on the cover and nothing on the console

Well we measured my "73" plate and came up with this.

The measurement is 4 3/4 by like 23/32 which is just short of 3/4.

So, I am going to say, this is the same as a 72.

I am going to put together a preliminary list for review after I get back from Live On Ski's. If we are in agreement on the content of the plates, I will start moving forward again.

What year model said 295? My 74 300 says 292.

There is also a question that has been posed to me as to which size/design did the early JDX sleds use?

Thanks!
