Liquidator 229 Rebuild

Cleaned up the sled and started the tear down and rebuild of the engine.

Engine disassembly. Head was stuck onto the jugs, crank case did not want to separate. Unique tool designed.

Crankcase separating tool. Crank looks good but does have some rust, so I will have it rebuilt. Exhaust looks rough.

AAEN repoped the exhaust.

I got the exhaust apart, mouse condo in the muffler can. Pipes are solid, but the can is rough. Do they make replacement for the muffler or do I have to manufacture one?

I found a FB page that AAEN makes the pipes and the muffle as Don mentioned in an earlier post. When I check their site, I only see the pipes listed for sale, no muffler.

Has anyone recently dealt with AAEN Performance Pipes? i have been trying to contact them with very little luck. Phone goes to voice mail with no reply from them. I called about 15 times and it always goes to voice mail. I sent a couple of emails which they did respond to after a week or so, but no response to my follow up email? I'm a little leary of sending a company that much $$, that I cannot communicate with if something is not correct. Just wondering if that is their normal operating procedure?

Finally got through to them and ordered my part. She said they only answer the phone on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Got the can back from AAEN. Now on to fixing the pipes.
