1983 trailfire voltage regulator

Could anyone inform me how to test a voltage regulator on an 83 trailfire? My headlight keeps burning out really fast and I have suspicions that it is the issue. I tried checking for voltage at the headlight but I'm only getting a volt or two present at the plug which is strange....

Thanks, Luke

1983 Trailfire Fuel Pump Issue

Went for a good ride today but unfortunately ended about 60 miles from home with a dead snowmobile. I was riding the sled when it suddenly coughed, bogged and died. Id wait ten seconds, give it a pull and it start up and Id be able to ride a few hundred yards, then same thing, cough, bog, die. Spark...

Re: 80 liquifire won't stop running!

UPDATE

I took the sled out today a little. With the kill on and the engine running rough I opened the hood to pull the plug wires off to check if was deiseling. Engine imediately died when I opened the hood. Found wires at hood hinge shorted whenever hood was shut. Repaired, OK

80 liquifire won't stop running!

I took my liquifire out last week end. Ran good but when I went to shut it off it would sputter and keep running. Turn the kill or key on runs great again. Flip the kill switch or key again, sputter but runs. I made a wire jumper across the key contact still runs and sputter but won't shut off. Remo...

Re: "82 trailfire lx oil pump

I would leave it personally. I have over 6000 miles on my pump, never premixed, and never have i had a breakdown. I have an 83 trailfire btw.

Re: Ride with the Champs: Vintage Challenge 2012

Is this event always been held in mid-February? I wish they would hold it in the 3rd or 4th week of January. I ve road alot up there and January always seems to be the best. Colder, and plenty of snow. I just hate to run a old sled when its barely below freezing. Maybe more sleds would finish??? Eit...

Re: DF52-73

I'll try filling the tank fuller. Im at about a 1/4-1/3 full. I'll see what happens. Other than that, you think the thing is hooked up right? I did not see any arrows that gave any clues. BTW it is a Mikuni.
