Found this on my local classifieds. Looks to have been stored indoors it's whole life. A buddy called, and it sounds like the second snowmobile he refers to in the ad might be another LX with even less miles.

Re: '84 JD Sportfire parts
Help me out here guys! I want this out of my shop. I'm willing to start parting this out. I don't remember the guys name (either in PA or NY) who called me and asked if I'd be willing to cut the serial # area out of the tunnel. I'm now willing to do that. Ideally, someone would take all of this and ...

Re: '84 JD Sportfire parts
OK guys... I've learned that to ship JUST the tunnel, would be about $160 (don't remember the zip, but figure the lower 48). Even though the thing weighs like 10 lbs. Big picture, I could start parting out the thing, but I'd really rather just have someone come pick it up and restore a true '84. $25...

'84 JD Sportfire parts
For those who haven't been watching the other thread, I found an '84 Sportfire that was about to be scrapped. Here is what is NOT there: hood, bellypan, suspension, airbox, and seat. The tunnel is rough - lots of holes drilled around the front mounting area. Tunnel appears to be straight though. The...

Re: Got some '84? Sportfire parts today.
Before I go through the trouble of picking up this tunnel which is a 70 mile round trip for me, let me describe it again. It has been separated from the bulkhead in preparation for scrap. There are several holes near the front mounting area because they put a Cat suspension in it. They had a steel p...

Got some '84? Sportfire parts today.
So, in a local ad a guy was selling a track for an '83 JD (By the way it's an all rubber track - no cleats). I inquired because I figured I could use a spare track for my '81 Trailfire...his price was very reasonable. Then he says it came off of and he has more parts for an '83 Sportfire. I get a bi...

Re: Scrapyard find in N. Utah: Nice Cyclone
Update on this sled: I was at a vintage lemans/snocross type of race in central Utah this last weekend and there was a Cyclone. Turns out, it was the Cyclone I found in the scrapyard. They said it started on the fourth pull. Glad it was rescued!

Scrapyard find in N. Utah: Nice Cyclone
Hi guys, I was at the scrapyard again today and found a Cyclone in great shape. Seat would need recovering, but hood and the rest are solid AND NOT faded by the sun. There's slight denting on the front right of the bellypan, the windshield is cracked up, and snow flap is torn. Under the hood is rela...

"Real" HP numbers for the Liquidator and 340/s?
We had these growing up (still do). I remember seeing somewhere that the 340/s put out 47 hp and the Liquidator put out 90 hp. Those seem pretty high for a "stock" 340 fanner and 340 liquid.
Just curious what the experts have to say!

Thanks. Yup, everybody is doing well. Dad and I went flying, and even did a little fishing.
