i have a tillotson carb on a jd 400 motor ,rebuilt the carb and now it wont start, any ideas guys motor was just rebuilt also

Well guys Ive been trying to get my 500 going and everything i did just was not working. So i took off the motor (again!!!) and finially took it to someone who knows older sleds. Seems the guy who rebuilt it the first time never tore the engine all the way down when he replaced the piston I burned, ...

i found a cdi box for it and am going to put that on thanks for all the help guys .Oh by the way we do have snow down here in western ny some trails are closed because of trees down from the ice we had but i have heard the ones that are open are in pretty good shape

I just put different heads on my 1972 jd 500 and pulled the plugs after I ran it about 15 minites. PTO side is brown and the other one is white. Can anybody tell me what is causing this. thanks guys i guess i need a cdi box then, wire is broke off right at the box where the wires go in, unless u guys now of anyway bypass that wire or another way to shut off the sled that wont hurt it. after seeing joe rainvilles parts supply i wonder if he has one laying around( i live about 40 mini...

i just checked wires and i just noticed that the black wire is broke at the cdi box could this be my problem. white wire looks to be ok all the way thru

hey guys i have a 76 340 cyclone that starts fine (always on first few pulls) but now i cant get it to shut off. replaced key switch and kill switch and still nothing would anybody have any ideas what to check next.

Finally first ride of the season
Well here in western ny (Bliss) finially got enough to run cyclone around the yard and still runs great.I heard they were riding trails here pretty heavy so must be they arent too bad .We had some snow a couple days ago but alot of wind with it so it all blew off but is suppose to stay cold for awhi...

snow should be here in western ny by sat or sun and just got cyclone ready to go so now LET IT SNOW.....trails dont open till dec 29 tho just hope it sticks around

brain hit the nail right on the head. Im new to john deeres and snowmobiling in general and this site is by far my most visited,without this site there would still be just a couple of deeres still sitting in the bushes keep up the great work and lets hope for snow to get them deeres out there !!!!!!!

thanks for the help, you guys dont know how much this site has helped me.plesae keep up the good work and maybe someday we will get to ride these things. does anybody know of anybody in western new york that works on john deeres and has parts for them. this clutch sounds like more than i can handle....

since we have no snow down here i figured i would have the clutch on my 340 check out. one problem, nobody down here knows anything about john deere clutches and really doesnt want to mess with it. there is a squeeling when the motor idles and i can move the can on the end of the clutch about an 1/8...

ive been ridin down here for everynight for the last week in western ny. finially get to take the kids out today. cyclone screams this year, and i dont know why but im not complaining. cant wait till trails open on the 21.
