With that rattle at full throttle you described and the condition of the plug I wouldn't be surprised if you have a piston hitting that plug. I would try pulling the plug out and shining a light in the cylinder to see what the top of the piston looks like. Joel

Tail lights are still available thru Deere. I dont have the part # handy right now but the dealer's can look it up for you.

I logged onto JDPOINT and the number subbed to M66864 which is the engine plate for the Dator. Hope this helps.

Check your local Deere dealer-they may still have the tool hanging on a wall somewhere. I bought a couple of alignment tools from Rich (takeittothelimit) and then found out later that we had those tools in our toolroom! (I work at a JD dealer)

I need to replace the limiter strap on my Spit but it's too much fun pulling the skis. If I had any bush riding to do I would replace it but all I have around me is wide open fields.
