Sportfire Exhaust Manifold - Up or Down?
This is kind of a dumb question, but I am struggling to fine tune some issues with my 1983 Sportfire. Is there a top side to the exhaust manifold? Right now the center brace cut out is facing up. Is this correct as shown in the photo? I say dumb, because if I disconnected, flipped, and checked the a...

Wanted: Recoil Starter - 1983 JD Sportfire
I am looking for a recoil starter in good working condition. I am not sure if a recoil starter from a Trailfire would also match and be the same part? I do need a recoil with ability to mount and hook up the oil injection pump. Please let me know if you have one available, photos would be helpful to...

Re: I just can't get a break!! In a rut!! 83 Snowfire
sounds like only firing on one side like Todd mentioned. I would check the intake manifold gaskets. If sucking air on one side, would cause this problem.

Wanted: Trailfire Fan Plastic Shroud
I am looking for a good used or new plastic fan shroud. M68332.
I probably can run without one, but I think the sled will run a little warmer than designed.

Re: Yellow 1983 Sportfire Custom
Thanks. I made the decision to do a custom build last year at the Frontenac Vintage show in February - The pictures show a 1983 Trailfire on the side, which is all original including the decals, windshield, seat cover, etc. The sled looks brand new, all I did was rebuild the entire fuel delivery, pu...

Looking for Ski Insulator(s) - M63052
I am looking for one or preferably a pair of the plastic/vinyl ski insulators that are located between the ski and leaf spring. Part #M63052. I found them on the New Breeds website but they show as "out of stock". I would like to find new or reproduction new, but used would also be accepta...

Yellow 1983 Sportfire Custom
I took a beat up Sportfire that had a cracked up hood, broken headlight bezel, rough running engine, and tore up seat and went to work. I started by rebuilding the fuel delivery system - cleaning the tank, rebuilt the fuel pump and carb, and lines. Then pulled the engine and put in new pistons, ring...

Black Shoe Polish
Maybe I rediscovered something that everyone else already knows. And maybe I will be told that black shoe polish has long term negative effects. However, I decided to shine up the old snow flap on my 1983 Sportfire and 1983 Trailfire, and found that black shoe polish worked excellent and restored th...

Re: Sportfire Hood Strap Removal - seeking some advice
Both my 1983 Sportfire and 1983 Trailfire have pop rivets that attach the hood straps. But now I know what to do - I will grind or drill the back and re-attach with bolts and lock nuts on the back. Thanks for the help guys.
