Well bob that sounds like an idea, it's just that i tend to have a problem with the gently part , stuff tends to break when i try to be gentle

I am in the process of repairing my 80 LF and I don't know how to get the bearing and gear off the PTO side of the crank to change the crank seal , since I don't have thew tool specified in the tech manual. So any help on this would be appreciated

the only problem is my JD snowmobile bibs don't match the jacket, but i suppose mismatched JD gear is better than wearing polaris gear on a jd sled

How much riding tine have you gotten in so far?
Just got most of the bugs worked out of the liq that I replaced the engine on (after a burn down) so I have only ridden about 50 on it

I'll start rigt off by saying I know, I know I need a tech manual, and I have one coming but I don't know when it will arrive. My brother has a spit with a blown head gasket and I am going to help him with it this weekend and would appreciate if someone can give me the torque specs for the head bolt...

Oh yippie, just pulled the plugs and lo and behold a hole in one of the pistons, next question is it easier to change tracks or engines. I have an 80 lf with a bad track and a good enigne.

I have cleand the carbs a couple of times, and no I have not pulled the plugs turning steel plugs out of warm aluminum heads is, at least for me, never a good thing. I do plan to check the pistons when I go pick up the sled. I thought of fuel pump problems also

I was running down the ditch this morning about 50mph and the sled completely died, just like you turned off the key. It has spark and I plan to go through the carbs tonite. track suspension question
Mine is mounted between the slide rails, but it looks like there is anoter mounting point higer on the cross piece for the center set of wheels and I was not sure if the shock was mounted correctly. Thanks for the help
