Re: 80's Liquifire Airbox Question
I wonder if there is any foaming from the fuel sloshing around when you're bouncing down the trail or across the lake? If you're running something close to the stock jetting it's not going to burn down because you don't have the original manifolds. I would wager that more engines have been damaged b...

Re: Liquifire crank seals
For a liquid, If you are mechanical but have never done one before your'e looking at somewhere around 6-8 hours just doing the very bare minimum work to get it done and back together. Get a manual for sure if you don't have one. If you know your way around sled motors and have all the correct tools ...

Re: 80 LF won't stay running
Sounds like you have ignition but may be loosing fuel. Check the plus and see if they are wet. If they are and it's flooding you may need to go back through the carbs (Check the needle/seats, set the choke plungers correctly, etc.) If they are dry and it's running out of gas you might want to look a...

Re: Graphics
Marks decals are great. A few years back I sent him a pair of NOS tunnel decals for the 83 Sportfires. He repopped them, sent me a set, and returned the originals for a great price. We both got what we needed. I'd like to hear about everybody's techniques for applying hood decals. I had one hell of ...

Re: John Deere TR 800 Clutch
If the goal is to have a period correct machine that doesn't really get ridden I can understand maybe wanting to keep a TR800 on it. If your'e going to ride it more than 50 miles a year, put the TR800 on a shelf, put a 108exp on it and support the company that's making them. The TR800 doesn't hold u...

Re: Ski Pressure
That's pretty much the way they are, especially if you don't have a lot of your own weight to assist in getting some transfer. They just don't have the right geometry. I have two liquifires and both have the front springs cranked in as far as they go and they still have too much ski pressure. Using a...

78 Cyclone Chassis and Suspension
I have a 78 Cyclone chassis. No motor, hood is mostly junk. No seat. It's basically a bulkhead, tunnel, and suspension which look pretty darn straight. Looking to get $75 for it. If I can't get that I'll just scrap it. Thought I'd offer it here first. PM if interested. It's in Waterloo, WI 53594. Th...

Great looking sled..What brand/part# Ski Skins are you running? Been thinking about trying some but I don't see JD listed for any applications.
