Re: Fuel leaking out the side of walbro carb

This attachment was in a post a month or two ago and I saved it for reference. VERY useful to have on hand. I'm no carb expert, but if you are getting a lot of fuel returned down the vapour line, you're pumping lots and if you need to choke it to keep it running, the fuel is not entering the carb, j...

Joe, do you have a picture of the 295/s windshield (even better if its on a '00 series)?

Re: What clutch is on my 76 300 and how to pull it?

I believe the thread on the clutch is 9/16-18, which for me ended up proving harder and just as expensive to locate as the proper clutch puller itself. A fully threaded bolt without a shoulder is not an off the shelf item around here, and as soon as you bring something in, you're almost at the cost ...

Re: Factory and Dealer Installed options

My '76 300 has none of the above - just a black dash with circles indicating where the cut-outs for a tach and speedo would go. Only instrument I have is the seat of the pants! It's probably better that way (for the 300's anyway). You get tearing around on those things and it feels like you are goin...

Re: 1980? spitfire motor help

Asking as someone who has never done this work before, wouldn't that hone damage the edges of the ports, or round them over? If yes, does it even matter? I've only SEEN (never used) the types of hones with the flat strips.

Re: St. Germain this weekend

I'd be interested to see what the 300 does on the radar run. I've got one that runs great, but can only get about 30 mph out of her. Plenty scary on a 300 at that speed, though :)

Re: 00/JDX steel gas tank gauge?

I expect that difference in parts cost is due to the fact that most things tend to cost more North of the 49th parallel for any number of excuses/reasons. Not the least of which may be exchange rate...

Re: Brittle Secondary Cam Sliders

I've meaning to tear down the sally on my 300 as I don't think I'm getting full speed out of it and I suspect the clutches. I might give this a try then to see how it compares. Right now we have snow, though... so she stay's running!

Re: sprintfire dies after full throttle

Hey Mathew, I see you're from Chatham as well! I had my 300 out this weekend ripping around the yard with the kids and it was doing the same thing. Never really died but after a few good laps it would just fall on its face as it ramped up. I topped it up with new gas and filled the tank and the prob...

Re: Ring Gear Hub removal Update

Glad to hear you got it work. Just be careful you don't try and torque down on the stainless bolts when using the puller - just torque on the center nut. Stainless bolts have a tendency to gall.
