Re: Fire series reproduction track??

I did the track swap some years back.. Put the El tigre track on my 1978 Liquifire. It is still on the sled which I and others ride hard each HOF ride in St. Germain. The Fire series has a 118" or so length track where the 76 to 78 Deere LF and Cyclones had a 121" length. Also the Arctic t...

Re: Rest in Peace Jon Carlson

Matt, thank you for the opportunity to share a memory and photo of Jon. I knew who Jon was back in the race days, but as Brian L. put it so well, we did not run in the same circle. Was standing at the finish line when Jon, Roger, and the others crossed with their 340/S's in St. Paul for the I-500 in...

Re: JD Liquidator #55464

All of us have a "should a have, could a have story". Inspected a very low mileage Dator at Elk River Show just before Covid. Guess is they will be back in 2022 as it is Deere Year, along with triple cylinder sleds. Plan a outing for that weekend and even if that SN is a no show, you will ...

Re: 1978 Liquifire 440

In my opinion the best model (with 440 motor) and year Deere made. Course others may argue that point.
Friend near Regina has 14 (if I remember right) 78 Liquifire's. I have the CC version with rubber track. Enjoy your new find. Looks GREAT in Pics.

Re: Paper

Joe,
Thanks for posting! Any idea how many were exported to Scandinavia?
Was in a automotive museum in Kramfors, Sweden (75 miles north of Stockholm) 10 years ago and they had several old sleds on display but nothing Deere. In fact the ones on display all looked to be domestic built.

Re: 12 days out!

Hello Brian, Don, and the other Ride with the Champs goers, After a few discussions, we have decided not to attend the RWTC this year. We called the Whitetail and rolled our rooms reservations over to 2022. Donation will be mailed to the HOF as we really enjoy meeting up with everyone and value the ...

Re: A month and a half out!

Hello Brian, Not for sure if we are attending 2021. Room is reserved. It is a personal choice for each (unless the powers to be say otherwise). My feeling now is to avoid the parts of the event that are indoors. Any old Arctic Cutter Kitchens out there? Burgers on the trail always taste better anywa...

Re: 2022 MWVSS or RWTC

Hello Mark, Been to 10 or so RWTC and 8 or so Waconia (now MWVVS events). If your a Deere sled fan you should NOT miss 2022 MWVVS. They do a great job with the displays and priceless to listen to a ETD member speak to the banquet attendees. Maybe a once or twice in a lifetime show for us Deere guys!...

Re: "Mysteryfire" - What year?

Mysteryfire is a great name for this thread. I have nothing to add but you will love that sled as a custom or anyway you configure it. Have an 82 and enjoy every minute on it. But sometimes starting warm can be a pain. Jon, I do not do facebook so this is my only source for this hobby. I too have my...

Re: 1979 Trailfire 340 carberator issues

Hello Harrison, Sounds just like what my friends 78 440 Cyclone was doing a few years back. He never fixed it! Sold it to another collector who is using it as a static display. It looked like new, just run like crap. We wanted him to install a new choke plunger (rubber seal on the bottom gets very h...

I-500 pics from 1976

Hello All, Got these two photos from my cousin this fall. Her father had taken them of me at the finish line of day 3, January 21, 1976 in TRF Minnesota. Never knew they existed until I got the prints in the mail. Posting them so you can check out the other racers in the background. FYI I had a big ...

2017 I-600 Day 3 TRF to Bemidji

Glen Wasmuth's pit crew for the 2017 I-600, Maynard (Gumbo Farmer), Rick, Edna (Glen's wife), and myself were very happy to see Glen complete the Vintage Class. With the same sled and suit that he got 14th place with in 1975! I and the rest are getting ready for the Ride with the Champs this week so...

Re: 83 Days until 2017 ride with the champs

Historically we are not ready, even as we leave the Hall of Fame Saturday morning. Nevertheless, Wayne, John (Badger), Dale, and myself are planning the trip east again. Looking forward to seeing the old/new sleds and most of all, catching up with everyone. Think John is riding a Panther this year. ...
